

National Science day is celebrated in India on 28th February to mark the discovery of C.V. Raman. On this occasion Rebuild India Trust, Agassaim in collaboration with School of Symbiosis, Shiroda had organized SPECTRA 2022. The main highlight of the event was “Sir C.V. Raman Rolling Trophy”. It was an inter-school event wherein various competitions were organized for the school students of invited schools from Ponda and Quepem talukas.Various competitions like quiz, projects, PowerPoint presentation, solution design, science puzzles and many others were organized. The programme began with a welcome song and by garlanding the portrait of Sir C.V. Raman followed by words of welcome by headmaster of school of Symbiosis Shri Benjamin Rocha.
Senior principal chief scientist of CSIR – NIO, Sir Arvind Saran was the chief guest for the function along with chairman of NEP and Shivgram Education Society’s Shri. Subhash Shirodkar. Chairman of Rebuild India Trust Shri Abhay Bhamaikar , management member of Shivgram Education Society’s Shri Sachin Shirodkar graced the event along with other dignitaries. Addressing the event Mr Saran highlighted the importance of science and technology in the world. He also appreciated the growing scientific appetite of students towards science & technology.
Shri. Subhash Shirodkar spoke about the changing education system and importance of science and technology. He highlighted the significance of working on creative science communication across disciplines.Mast. Rohan Naik, student from Daffodils primary School was felicitated on this occasion with “student par excellence award.” Shri Sachin Shirodkar gave career talk to the students.During the valedictory function distribution of prizes and certificates were done by the dignitaries. The main motive of this event was to inculcate scientific temper among school students.
